Medical Weight-Loss Program

No matter how much weight you want to lose, our Medical Weight-Loss Program has a diet weight-loss plan that fits your needs.

All of our diet weight-loss plans:

  • Can be customized just for you
  • Are supervised by a bariatrician
  • Include group education classes and individual counseling with a dietitian

Depending on how much weight you want to lose and how fast you want to lose the weight, your weight-loss plan may be the Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) or the Low Calorie Diet (LCD).

Very Low Calorie Diet

The VLCD is a rapid weight-loss program for individuals who have at least 40 pounds to lose, a body mass index greater than 30 or health risks that could be improved by weight loss.

An average weight loss of 4 to 7 pounds is common in the first week. After the first week, you should continue to lose an average of 2 to 3 pounds per week.

Low Calorie Diet

The LCD is for individuals who want to lose 10 or more pounds.

Most patients lose an average of 2 pounds in the first week. After that, you should continue to lose 1 to 2 pounds per week.

New Direction

You'll have the option to use a meal replacement product as part of your diet weight-loss plan or eat three meals a day under the guidance of a dietitian.

We offer the New Direction meal replacement product line. Although you're not required to use these products, they are preferred. They are nutritionally balanced with the appropriate vitamins and nutrients required for healthy weight loss.
