Hospitalist APRN - Night Call Hospitalist APRN Night Call - Full-time, Part-time or PRN Night Call (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) - Provide night call coverage for the hospitalist group. - Practitioner will be able to work from home. Summary of job duties: APPs would be the primary contact for the care of patients assigned to a SEP Hospitalist for 3 facilities (Edgewood, Florence, Fort Thomas -300+ total inpatient census) - treat and manage hospitalized patients 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. as appropriate within their scope of practice. APP facilitates patient transitions within and between health care settings as needed, admitting/transferring as necessary -Facilitates new admits from ER, direct admits from other facilities, transfers, etc. and takes all floor calls from nursing personnel. APP places appropriate orders to facilitate admissions and other inpatient care -medication review/reconciliation, lab orders, interpretation as appropriate and within scope, etc. - orders appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment as needed. Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain stability (within scope of practice) - discusses case with physician and other health professionals as appropriate. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members. Records progress notes, orders, etc. in the medical record. Order treatments or appropriate diagnostic tests w/in the scope of the supervising physician's area of expertise and training. Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies Prescribe non-scheduled pharmacologic agents w/in the scope of the supervising physician's area of expertise and training. Prescription of controlled substances w/in the scope of the supervising physician's area of expertise and training (KY Board of Nursing eligibility and CAPA-CS, DEA). APRNs will be thoroughly trained by either hospitalist and/or night call APRN and will not function independently until the comfort level of the hospitalists and/or night call APRN of the practitioner’s competency is satisfactory to function at level of independence at night.
